Design & Commissioning Engineer (m/f/o)

Tasks

• Develop detailed designs for fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and standards
• Specify components and materials that align with project scope and client requirements
• Collaborate with project management and commercial teams to integrate designs smoothly into overall project plans
• Conduct site surveys to assess installation quality and functionality of fire protection systems
• Oversee the commissioning process, ensuring systems are installed and function as designed
• Perform tests and inspections to verify system performance and compliance
• Monitor project progress to identify and resolve design or installation issues, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
• Ensure all designs and installations comply with industry regulations and company standards, including ISO and LPCB requirements
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including design revisions, calculations, and client communications
• Provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders
• Mentor junior team members in fire protection design and commissioning principles and best practices
• Lead internal training sessions on new fire protection technologies and standards

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or a related field
• Experience in designing and commissioning fire protection systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design software, with a strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new digital tools and technologies
• Tech-savvy mindset, demonstrating comfort with modern software and digital platforms to streamline design and project processes
• Thorough understanding of industry standards and fire safety regulations
• Ability to empathize with stakeholders and actively listen to their concerns
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Basic verbal Maltese communication/understanding
• Ability to identify design and commissioning issues, analyze other M&E drawings, and develop practical solutions
• Meticulous attention to detail, commitment to ensuring high-quality project deliverables
• Ability to maintain accurate project documentation
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple project drawings simultaneously
• Ability to plan and manage time effectively
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to anticipate project risks and proactively address them
