TTI is seeking for a Financial Controller for one of our top clients based in Malta. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance, while driving continuous improvements in financial processes. This is a key role that involves collaborating closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the company’s financial stability and growth.
Tasks
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and present financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management
- Monitor key financial metrics such as cash flow, debt ratios, and works-in-progress (WIP) to support business decisions
- Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to review operational KPIs and financial performance
- Develop the company’s annual budget and long-term financial projections
- Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts
- Provide actionable recommendations to optimize financial performance and achieve business goals
- Oversee cost allocation across projects and services to ensure profitability
- Work closely with project managers to track project budgets and ensure cost control
- Analyse operational costs and propose measures to improve efficiency and reduce expenses
- Manage the invoicing process and oversee accounts receivable and payable functions
- Ensure timely collection of payments and manage credit terms to maintain a healthy cash flow
- Oversee cash flow forecasting to support operational and project needs
- Manage banking relationships to ensure the company’s financial stability
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies
- Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls to minimize risk
- Manage and mentor the finance team to achieve high performance and professional growth
- Provide commercial support for tenders and contracts, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) with a warrant or eligibility to practice in Malta
- Proven experience in the contracting or construction sector, with a deep understanding of project costing and contract accounting
- Strong knowledge of Maltese Company Law and Tax Regulation
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Experience in managing Work-in-Progress (WIP) valuation and project costing
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing finance teams
- Strong commercial acumen and business partnering abilities
- Fluent in English and Maltese (written and spoken)
