Our client in the insurance sector is expanding and currently seeking an Internal Control Officer to help reinforce its internal control environment.
This role is instrumental in developing and implementing internal policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively applied across the organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring compliance and promoting consistency and standardization across departments and business lines.
Tasks
- Analyse risks, identify potential threats, and develop preventive strategies
- Conduct internal reviews and ensure compliance with control policies and procedures
- Maintain and enhance business continuity plans
- Review records, processes, and policies to identify improvement areas
- Document internal review findings, prepare reports and provide recommendations
- Strengthen the Company’s Internal Control systems through assessments and reviews
- Provide insight to improve the Company’s operations by fostering a systematic and disciplined approach to risk management, control, and governance
- Monitor accounting accuracy and investigate potential fraud risks and control weaknesses
- Recommend policy improvements to minimise risks
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulations and industry and group standards
- Conduct training to raise awareness of internal controls
Requirements
- Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in Finance, Audit, Insurance or Risk management
- Minimum of 1 year, ideally 2 or 3 years, of experience in internal control, audit, or risk management
- Experience within the Insurance Sector is a plus
- Professional proficiency in English is a must. Knowledge of any other European language is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively within an international team
