TTI is seeking for a Reserving Actuary for one of our top clients.
The Reserving Actuary will support data processes and contribute to the overhaul of technical provisions through expertise in statistical models. They will guide junior team members, review analytical results, and play a key role in internal actuarial processes. Reporting to the Head of Actuary, the role is part of a multidisciplinary team and requires strong knowledge of the company’s business lines and products.
Tasks
- Work with the actuarial reserving tool, apply various actuarial reserving methods and decide on the most appropriate reserves
- Estimate nominal ultimate claims and their pay-out patterns
- Analyse portfolios to identify segments needing specific focus and monitoring
- Challenge cost accuracy and contribute to financial reporting whilst building a deep understanding of the company's portfolio of products
- Ensure that the overall calculations are comprehensive, complete and well understood
- Regularly interact with other functions such as Underwriting, Claims, Technical Accounting and Finance as well as with senior management and build trust and long-term relationships
- Lead on actuarial-related projects and systems development
- Interact with and train junior members of the team as they develop their actuarial expertise
- Support the Head of Actuary in any other task falling within the actuarial department remit
Requirements
- A recently qualified actuary or in the final stages of obtaining an actuarial qualification
- At least 3 years work experience within an Actuarial Department
- Good level of English is a must, working knowledge of French is an asset
- Familiarity with statistical analysis programs and advanced knowledge in Excel and Database Access
- Knowledge in programming languages such as (R software, VBA and SQL, Python…) is an asset
