TTI is seeking for a Actuarial Analyst for one of our top clients. Our client in the insurance sector is expanding and currently seeking an Internal Control Officer to help reinforce its internal control environment.
The Actuarial Analyst shall support the actuarial team in all data capture, entry and transformation processes and the technical follow up of the Company’s insurance portfolios. The position shall form part of a multi-disciplinary team of finance and actuarial professionals, reporting the Head of Actuary who is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of the Company.
Tasks
- Work with the actuarial reserving tool, apply various actuarial reserving methods and decide on the most appropriate reserves
- Estimate nominal ultimate claims and their pay-out patterns
- Analyse portfolios to identify segments needing specific focus and monitoring
- Challenge cost accuracy and contribute to financial reporting whilst building a deep understanding of the portfolio of products
- Ensure that the overall calculations are comprehensive, complete and well understood
- Regularly interact with other functions such as Underwriting, Claims, Technical Accounting and Finance as well as with senior management and build trust and long-term relationships
- Lead on actuarial-related projects and systems development
- Interact with and train junior members of the team as they develop their actuarial expertise
- Support the Head of Actuary in any other task falling within the actuarial department remit
Requirements
- A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or Financial Risk Management
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar position within an insurance/reinsurance company or regulatory body would be considered an asset. However, the position is open to university graduates looking to start their career in the insurance industry
- Good level of English is a must
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideas and feedback in a clear and concise manner
