Accountant (m/f/o)

Tasks

• Maintain and strengthen financial controls, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all financial processes
  
• Prepare monthly management accounts and group reporting, including variance analysis and commentary
  
• Monitor expenditure against approved budgets, ensuring adherence to internal controls and highlighting risks or deviations
  
• Manage VAT and tax-related matters in line with Maltese legislation, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements
  
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, supporting audit processes and addressing findings as required
  
• Oversee the administration of invoicing and payment processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
  
• Analyse production cost variances and provide actionable insights to support operational performance
  
• Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and rolling forecasts

Requirements

• A tertiary level of education with a Degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualified
  
• Relevant work experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  
• Knowledge of Maltese taxation, particularly VAT
  
• Ability to analyse and interpret cost variances within a production setting
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with SAP ERP is considered an asset
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
