TTI is seeking for a Financial Services & Fintech Lawyer for one of our top clients. Our client is a leading multidisciplinary law firm with offices across Europe, renowned for its expertise in fintech, gaming, corporate law, and regulatory matters.
Tasks
- Develop, lead, and grow the firm’s fintech practice
- Strengthen and expand the firm’s fintech and financial regulatory offering
- Advise on legal and regulatory matters relating to Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA)
- Handle licensing and registration of crypto-asset service providers (CASPs)
- Advise on issuance, offering, or admission to trading of crypto-assets
- Advise on stablecoins, e-money tokens, digital wallets, exchanges, tokenisation, and blockchain infrastructure
- Structure and launch fintech and digital asset projects within the EU regulatory framework
- Advise on licensing, compliance, prudential requirements, outsourcing, governance, and supervisory obligations for EMIs, PSPs, and CASPs
- Draft and review regulatory documentation, manuals, policies, and internal controls
- Act as a primary point of contact for fintech, crypto, and regulated financial services clients
- Support and grow the firm’s fintech client base
- Participate in conferences, regulatory consultations, and industry initiatives
- Contribute to thought leadership through articles, seminars, webinars, and guidance notes
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer or other senior practitioner with experience in financial services and fintech
- Solid knowledge of Maltese and EU financial services legislation
- Familiarity with Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), Digital
- Operational Resilience Act (DORA), PSD2 / PSD3, Electronic Money Directive (EMD), and MiFID II
- Experience liaising with regulatory authorities, particularly Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU)
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
- Strong analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills
- Commercial awareness and client-facing confidence
- Proactive mindset with an interest in technological and financial innovation
- Strong technical expertise and genuine interest in emerging technologies and evolving regulation
- Leadership capability suitable for a senior role
