Junior Accountant (m/f/o)

Tasks

• Carry out reconciliations for bank accounts, debtors, suppliers and general ledger entries
  
  
  
• Prepare cash reports and bank payments
  
  
  
• Prepare and maintain periodic stock reconciliations
  
  
  
• Prepare financial, costing and manufacturing-related reports
  
  
  
• Compile and report statistical and statutory information
  
  
  
• Assist with month-end closing activities
  
  
  
• Liaise with auditors, debtors, creditors and other stakeholders
  
  
  
• Collaborate with the IT department to improve financial automation and reporting
  
  
  
• Assist with the implementation and review of internal controls
  
  
  
• Prepare VAT returns
  
  
  
• Support financial analysis and ongoing projects
  
  
  
• Oversee and support accounts clerks in their daily duties
  
  
  
• Perform other day-to-day accounting tasks as required

Requirements

• Fully qualified or partially qualified Accountant with relevant hands-on experience
  
  
  
• Previous accounting experience within a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
  
  
  
• Basic knowledge of Oracle Business Suite is considered an asset
  
  
  
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  
  
  
• Strong analytical, organisational and numerical skills
  
  
  
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  
  
  
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  
  
  
• Ability to work with limited supervision and adapt to new reporting requirements and working practices
  
  
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
